The Fellas were formed in the summer of 1991. The group consisted of founding members, Joe Rivera III (lead vocals/1st tenor), Ricardo Wright (lead vocals/1st tenor), Andrew 'Drew' Rhoden (lead vocals/2nd tenor) and Anthony Cooper, Jr. (lead vocals/baritone/bass). The Fellas are patterned after the Temptations, whose style allows anyone to step out front and sing lead, without compromising the harmony and incorporate smooth choreography. Not wanting to be known as an "oldies" group, The Fellas are also armed with original material catered to the mature audience. Artists that influenced The Fellas (besides Motown acts) are The O'Jays, The Manhattans, The Spinners, Rachelle Farrell, Marvin Gaye, Will Downing and Phil Perry, to name a few. Today in 2017, original member Joe Rivera III continues to perpetuate Classic Soul music, along with JoQuae DeVonish, a member of the latter lineup of the Fellas, Roman Barksdale and Donald "Baby Ray" Moyer. Classic Soul returns from New York City. These are vocals groups who seek the talents of THE FELLAS for stage performances and vocal fill-ins; The Legendary Teenagers, The Dubs, The Jarmels, Joe Bataan & The Barrio Boys Plus One and The Persuaders Review. Although it may seem arrogant to some, THE FELLAS will NOT accept gigs that require to sell tickets, bring in a certain amount of people, perform by passing a hat, perform for food and drinks. We will not lower our standards when TOP NAME vocal groups hire individual members of THE FELLAS and compensate each member at a RESPECTABLE rate. Not to mention THE FELLAS carry a member who is an inductee of The DooWopp Hall of Fame. Venues performed include Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs BB King Blues (Times Square, NYC) Bronx Museum Kupferberg Center of The Arts at Queens College Paramount Theater (Middletown, NY) Patchogue Theater (Patchogue, NY) Snug Harbor (Staten Island, NY) The Ritz Theater (Newburgh, NY) The Roxy Theater (Northampton, PA)
