Hello there! I’m Risa, and I’m the one-woman show behind the act Glass Coppélia. I’m a singer and lyricist with a focus on telling stories through music. My favorite original song of mine is Belmont, a song heavily inspired by the animated Castlevania show. My inspirations are incredibly varied, and come from across the globe: Nightwish, ALI PROJECT, Ego-Wrappin’, Jonathan Young, Riyu Kosaka, Kamelot, Abney Park, The Cog is Dead, Offenbach, traditional folk songs…the list goes on and on. I’m a lyrical soprano most comfortable when I’m singing power ballads. Most of the time I sing covers of j-pop music at anime related events, since any original music has to be commissioned and I’m very much a college student. However, I’m looking to expand and make more originals anyway! So far, I’ve got a sort of gothic edm song based off of Phantom of the Opera, a pair of traditional folk songs based off of a tale I wrote for my worldbuilding project (loosely inspired by the ballet Giselle), and my power metal ballad Belmont (my pride and joy, honestly). I take lyrical inspiration from gothic literature, a bit of Lovecraft, fairy tales, ballet, opera, and whatever else happens to catch my eye. I do try to keep things clean; sex, excessive violence, and the occult/demonic aren’t really my style. I’d rather go more towards the psychological. It would be amazing to find a band to create something unique with, eventually. So, I’m looking for fellow artists who have a similar love for the dark, tragic, beautiful, and strange. Maybe we can make something great together!
