I grew up in the during '90s alternative rock movement. The powerful ,but relatively simplistic music, gave me a chance to play popular music that was within my ability at the time. I thought my abilities were progressing, until I heard the Black album by Metallica. Their songwriting and general musicianship was so far above anything I had heard before. It was also my first deep dive into lead guitar. Eventually, this led me to influences of theirs like Ozzy. After I heard Randy Rhodes play for the first time, my approach to music changed. I realized that there was a benefit to learning music theory, and I started studying other genres of music like. Now 20 years later, I firmly believe that every genre of music has something worthy for one explore. Because of this philosophy, I've developed a very eclectic style. I'm comfortable playing almost any genre both acoustic and electric, rhythm and lead. Thank you for reading. Josh
