Hello! I'm in my late 40s and am in need of a creative outlet. I started playing drums at 15 and have been playing off and on since Ive played in a few giggling bands not professionally and the last band I was in was 2008. I've jammed with people here and there since then but nothing more than that.
About me as a drummer...I'm not extremely technical and I tend to play a bit more bluntly and with a bit of power. I don't have much patience to play covers but I love working on original material and the whole creative process that goes alone with it.
I started off playing drums originally with a passion for thrash metal. Megadeths Rust In Peace album was the perfect album to me as it had power aggression progressive elements and very colorful melodic aspects to it. I'm not saying that I want to play in a thrash band necessarily but I thought it would be good to communicate my roots. The most important thing for me is if there is a connection, then the genre doesn't matter so much.
I am hoping to either find a group or piece one together. I'm looking for likeminded musicians that I can connect with and that want to create something original and fun. I would also love to record and play some shows if possible.
