Hi All, I'm a 35 year old seasoned drummer who is looking to start playing again after some time off. I have a few ideas that are just germinating and I'm open minded. I've been playing music for about 17 years and have been in all sorts of bands and scenarios. I've been in silly college bands at open mic nights, original bands that played up and down the northeast corridor as far up as Burlington and as far west as Chicago. I've played in a 90s cover band that had regular summer gigs in Long Beach, and basement bands that jammed out classic rock staples but never went anywhere. My biggest influences include: The Who, Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, The Band, Pearl Jam, Phish, James Brown, The Meters and Tom Petty. A few quick thoughts of where my mind is at: *Start a cover band focusing primarily on Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, as well as related music (Traveling Wilburys and their members, Petty solo stuff, songs Petty covers in concert, etc.). *Jamming in a practice space for improv, or jammy type stuff (Phish/Dead/The Band/Classic Rock) just for fun and to challenge one another once we get comfortable. *Another 90s cover band. It was a ton of fun when I was in one and there were ALWAYS gigs available and crowds that loved it. My vision is simply to practice 1x or 2x per week depending on schedules and locations and, once ready, to play live anywhere that will have us. Nothing too ambitious. I'd like to keep it fun and low-key and avoid any ego clashes as best as possible. What I'm looking for: Get in touch if you're interested in connecting!
