About myself: I'm a bass and acoustic guitar player. For several years I've been playing guitar and singing in a Simon and Garfunkel tribute band. My voice is a tenor. I love groovy rhythms and harmonies. I have some knowledge of music theory. I'm very good at following a leader, reading chord charts, and picking up things by ear. Favorite genres for bass: - Prog rock (Rush, Yes, Genesis, Kansas, Syd Arthur) - Symphonic metal (Nightwish, Kamelot) Favorite genres for acoustic guitar: - Folk rock (Simon and Garfunkel, Fleet Foxes, Bowerbirds) What I'm looking for: Looking to be part of a semi-serious band. By "semi-serious", I mean that I primarily want to be part of a fun group and have a good time, but I want more rigor than jam sessions. I want to stretch myself musically, prepare for practices, and create something with the band that I'm proud of. Preference is folk rock or prog rock, but willing to branch out to other rock/pop types. Maybe even some symphonic metal?
