Looking to start a Band

Looking to start a Band I would like to get together to create music weekly. I would not be able to get together more frequently than once per week since I have 3 young children. I have a finished AC rehearsal space in North Chatham County, a few miles from Shakori Hills. It is a 20 min drive from Carrboro. It is a 10 min drive from Downtown Pittsboro. It is a 12 min drive from Saxapahaw. It is a 21 min drive from Siler City. It is a 25 min drive from Chapel Hill. It is a 30 min drive from Apex. It is a 30 min drive from Sanford. It is a 45 min drive from Durham. It is a 47 min drive from Greensboro. It is a 47 min drive from Raleigh. We can get really loud in the rehearsal space. I can not travel to any other location to practice . I can start playing music at 9pm for a 2-3 hours. I am unattached to any types of instruments, computer software or sounds that you want to bring . I am open to trying anything, if it feels right. I have been dedicated to playing music for over 2 decades. I play music everyday with focus on both free emotional creations and also on technique. I love to play all different types of instruments. My main instruments that I am proficient at are guitar, drums(drum kit and other percussion) and vocals.. My secondary instruments that I can play pretty well are bass, Native American flute and piano. I can make interesting sounds and can sound decent if I create a piece of music in accompaniment with violin, cello, tap shoes and trumpet. I love grooves. I love weird notes, off beats and uneven time signatures. I have an understanding of intervals, scales, modes, and rhythms. I love the minor pentatonic. I love strange compositions. I love simple and ancient emotional music. I want to create powerful music. Music that stops the listener in their tracks to listen to. Not music that can be in the background. Music that inspires. Music that is as complex and weird as it is solid and deep. Music that explores the limits of what music can be. I am open any notes, chords and rhythms as long as it feels good and feels right. I don’t want to make music that has been made before. I don’t want to cover other songs. This is not a money making endeavour for me. This is an exploration. An adventure. An ongoing experiment. I don’t want to just jam. I do love jamming but I need it to have a purpose. I will jam on a piece of music in order to discover new ways to play it. I am open to exploring what you want to do with whatever sounds you want to make. I am looking for long term band members that want to share in leading the direction of the music. I am looking to primarily compose and record rather than play shows. I am open to playing out a few times a year. I Will NOT play out every month or even every other month. My priorities in the band (in order from most important to least important) are: Composing music Using Jams to discover music Playing the composed music Recording the composed music Creating albums Playing out a few times a year I am oriented towards projects and I am more interested in the process of creation than socializing. I would like to take the lead in composing and alternatingly, I would like you to take the lead in composing. I am open to any kind of criticism or even if you don’t like the music I am making and would like to tweak it or scrap it. I want you to be open to me doing the same for you. I want us to be able to communicate in a direct and kind way. I am open to discussing and debating the choices in the composition even if it gets high energy. I am here for the music..Not for my ego.
