I moved to Madison about a year ago and am looking to finally get plugged into the local music scene. Most of my musical background is in metal—I played in several local-scene bands in Birmingham through my early 20s, primarily as a vocalist, but I’ve always been involved in songwriting and arrangement as well.

For the last few years I’ve been working on and off with a home studio, writing and recording my own material. I’ve put a few demos up on my profile, but I’ve reached the point where I’d really like to work with other musicians and turn some of these ideas into something more developed.

Vocals were once my strongest area (working on conditioning and breath control for the harsh vocals, there's potential), but I am still trying to develop confidence in my clean vocal. Now, I primarily play guitar and some bass. I’m admittedly a little rusty on the instruments at the moment, but I tend to get back up to speed pretty quickly when I have a reason to practice. I’m not a drummer, though.

I’m primarily looking for people who are interested in writing and creating something together—whether that eventually turns into a full band or just some good collaborations. I’m pretty open-minded about where it goes, but metal/heavy music is definitely where I have the deepest roots.
